Happy Birthday to Me:)

cupcakeHappy Birthday to me!!! This birthday I turn the BIG 3-1 and I’m loving every minute of it:). I am a huge fan of birthdays and if I can get away with it, I usually try and extend the celebration for the week..or 2:) I know there are a lot of you out there that wish to ignore your birthdays and pretend that you are eternally 25 but here’s the deal: growing older has far more benefits than we are willing to admit.

Sometimes it can feel like we are all just going through the motions. We go to work, eat and go to bed day in and day out. Sometimes, through all of that, it can feel confusing as to what the purpose of a life like that is. We feel exhausted, over weight and just plain crabby, not to mention the achy joints and sore body as the years go on. The good news? We DON’T have to feel like that! Now is the time to invest in your health and wellness and start living your years to the fullest! Fill your life with purpose and meaning by finally taking up that hobby that you have always wanted to do! Fill your fridge with nutrient dense foods that fight aging, cancer and disease! Fill your life with gratitude and give back to the community that serves you! Fill your life with people you love and people who love you! Drop the old baggage and move on to bigger and brighter things! After all, the years are going to pass you by if you don’t ride the wave of life with it!

Assuming that we are taking care of ourselves by eating clean, breathing deep, moving our bodies and practicing gratitude, growing older is the glorious process of becoming more wise and a chance to enjoy all that life has to offer. Birthdays are a time to be thankful for another year of life and a time to remember that we get to choose what kind of life we want to live. Use your birthday as a way to start over, fresh. Use the lessons that you have learned over the previous year and make changes as necessary. After all, this is your life and it’s up to you how you choose to live it!

Peace & sugar free-vegan birthday cake, nikki
